About DannyDanny King is an award-winning British writer who has written for the page, stage, big and small screens. His first book, The Burglar Diaries (published by Serpent's Tail), won the 2001 Amazon Bursary Award for Best First Novel and was the basis of his BBC3 sitcom Thieves Like Us (2007). He published a further seven novels in the UK and several more abroad before making the switch to screenplays with the critically acclaimed Wild Bill, for which he and co-writer/director Dexter Fletcher won a Writers' Guild of Great Britain award and a BAFTA nomination. His second feature film, Eat Local, with Jason Flemyng directing has just completed.
Danny also served as one of the judges at the 2014 Colchester International Film Festival, overseeing and awarding the prize for best short screenplay. |
